Though the final night of the three night run may be a step below the opening night on 8/4 it still ranks as one of Bruce's best performances of the River tour. After returning from a successful run of shows in Europe, the last leg of the tour was more focused losing some of the excess that would stretch the marathon shows at the end of 1980 to the longest of his career. Feeling a bit like the late 1980's shows younger brother, it sits nicely between those marathon performances and the much shorter get in, take care of business and get out European shows. After discovering my copy of this show was indeed a second source and much improved quality, I contacted the usual suspects for any additional copies and "Hobbes4444" came through with a beautiful DAT copy of the same source that was superior to my copy albeit with a few issues. Unfortunately, the DAT was missing "Born To Run" and "Detroit Medley". Fortunately, my copy had both, though "Born To Run" was missing the start. We've used those two tracks from my slightly inferior copy and patched "Born To Run" from Recorder 1. The first few notes of "Ramrod" were also missing from the DAT but were present on my copy so 2 seconds have been patched from my copy to the DAT copy (this is fairly seamless). Two additional patches in "Badlands" and "Born To Run" from Recorder 1 are noted above. Bruce's mic also goes out during "Prove It All Night" after the "...if dreams came true, oh wouldn't that be nice" line for the next couple of lines. This is a major upgrade to a brilliant show and we're hoping this new source gets frequent play in your River Tour playlist. mjk5510 & Hobbes4444
