After conquering Europe, the tour wraps up with tight focused performance, Bruce and band are all business. This is a second recorder source to the EarlMV release of this outstanding show. The EarlMV recorder 1 source came out from a 1 st generation copy via Persic form the "Little Guy" master (a big thanks to him for supplying some many great tapes included a 1st generation copy of an early River show he recently assisted me in tracking down that will be a future release). As I was working on this source there were clear indicators early on confirming this as a second recording source, main indicator being this source had a whistler nearish the taper not present on the Recorder 1 source, these instances have been removed so that is no longer an issue. The Recorder 1 source is noted with..."master tapes were damaged beyond repair"". On that source, "Out In The Street" has the start and end cut, this source has "Out In The Street" start intact and the last few notes at the end cut. Interestingly, starting with the next song on Recorder 1 after the "Out In The Street" cut the first source uses this second source from "The Promised Land" to the end of the first set. It then picks back up at the start of the second set with the original Recorder 1 source. The reason I'm saying that source uses songs from this source is the whistler was all over the Recorder 2 source but only on those 5 songs on the Recorder 1 source. The overlap between sources was rather confusing and it took some time going song by song to figure out what was going on, I am unsure of the exact scenario here around the shared songs but it is clear for all but those 5 songs this is an alternate source to the first Recorder. I find this capture to be very enjoyable, it benefited greatly from the tweaks made during the mastering process and though slightly back in the arena I very much enjoy it. This release comes from my own archives, I have one other copy of this show that is potentially a 3rd source but will require a bit of extra work as it deteriorates towards the end but that's for another time. Thanks as always to Goody for applying his exceptional pitch assistance to this and so many releases. mjk5510
