So the story goes, Tape Man Joe attended many concerts. Joe used a Sony D6 with either a Sony 929 or 939 microphone (memories have faded on which exact mic) and TDK metal tapes. Joe made a few copies and gave them to friends but never actively traded his recordings. Recently Joe lent a few of his masters to his friend, Jungleland user G (a generous collector himself who has lent tapes from his collection to help upgrade many shows). G asked me to finish off the transfers and post them. We return for the second of ten shows at the Brendan Byrne Arena in 1984. The set list features many early tour changes that were ultimately dropped as the tour went on. There are little differences such as Used Cars between The Promised Land and My Hometown. A second set highlighted by 10th Ave Freeze-out, Because the Night and Fire between Pink Cadillac and Bobby Jean. The encore which featured both I'm A Rocker and Street Fighting Man. Joe's master now gives us three known recorders. Recorder One is the most well known. It was released under the title "As The Sun Descends" by EV2. Recorder Two was an incomplete JL tape transfer, which missed the entire first set and everything after Jungleland. Three songs from this show were officially released. Nebraska and No Surrender were released on Live 75-85. Trapped was released on U.S.A. For Africa: We Are The World charity album. Please DO NOT upload to Dime-A-Dozen since these tracks would have to be removed. Thanks to Tape Man Joe for recording and sharing his tapes and G for transferring the files. 01.BORN IN THE U.S.A. 02.OUT IN THE STREET 03.SPIRIT IN THE NIGHT 04.ATLANTIC CITY 05.OPEN ALL NIGHT 06.NEBRASKA 07.TRAPPED 08.PROVE IT ALL NIGHT 09.GLORY DAYS 10.THE PROMISED LAND 11.USED CARS 12.MY HOMETOWN 13.BADLANDS 14.THUNDER ROAD 15.CADILLAC RANCH 16.HUNGRY HEART 17.DANCING IN THE DARK 18.TENTH AVENUE FREEZE-OUT 19.NO SURRENDER 20.BECAUSE THE NIGHT 21.PINK CADILLAC 22.FIRE 23.BOBBY JEAN 24.RACING IN THE STREET 25.ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) 26.I'M A ROCKER 27.JUNGLELAND 28.BORN TO RUN 29.STREET FIGHTING MAN 30.TWIST AND SHOUT - DO YOU LOVE ME Known faults: Prove It All Night is cut at the start.-Not patched. Also cut on Recorder One. From Brucbase WikiDot: "Spirit In The Night" makes its tour debut. "No Surrender" now includes a harmonica solo instead of the sha-la-la vocal, acoustic version #2. It will be played as such from now on for the rest of the tour. "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" includes the "Come A Little Bit Closer" introduction. Bruce sings a bit of Chubby Checker's "Let's Twist Again" as an introduction to "I'm A Rocker". Audience tape available on CDR 'As The Sun Descends' (Ev2). About 20 minutes of rough, single camera raw news footage exists, featuring brief clips of "Open All Night", "Nebraska", "Born In The U.S.A.", "Cadillac Ranch", "Pink Cadillac" and "Born To Run". Audio recordings of "Nebraska" and "No Surrender" from this show are officially released on the Live/1975-85 box set. In addition, "Trapped" is officially released on the U.S.A. For Africa: We Are The World charity album in 1985 and, in 2003, on the Essential Bruce Springsteen bonus CD.
