JEMS, slipkid68 and I partnered up to offer two simultaneous 35th Anniversary torrents from the master tapes for this unbelievable night. This is the companion release to the fantastic upgraded release of the "Oakland Night" Recorder 1 source from the master tape recently posted by "slipkid68". We used this "BW" Master to patch that release and if you've downloaded that one and have heard the patched songs you'll already know this BW Master is simply outstanding quality. I won't go into the performance details of this amazing show, I touched on those when I released Recorder 2 as part of the 'DS Archives' and you can read all about the show in slipkid68's posting, he was at the show and there is nothing I could add he hasn't said and much better than I could have. BW did a top notch job documenting this night, it has a slightly more "airy" feel to it. My assumption is it's a lower balcony capture right off the stage. Distance to the stage between this capture and the Recorder 1 source sounds equal, the main difference is the vocals on BW's capture sound a touch less "grounded". BW only missed very small portions of two songs I've patched with the recent Recorder 1 master tape release. We are fortunate to have so many outstanding available sources for this show and we are not yet done with one master still to go from JEMS founding member Jared (R.I.P.). Thanks to BK for transferring and sending the masters, slipkid68 for his collaboration and motivation and the biggest thanks to BW for the outstanding steady taping hand. Samples and artwork provided (I noticed I used the same photos for the artwork that the cover designer for slipkid68's' torrent used, I thought about changing them out but damn those two photos are simply gorgeous and a no brainer to use, some of Jared's finest work)! mjk5510
