There appears to be only one source for the first night (27th) so we open our journey on night two in L.A. with an big upgrade to the source originally released as "The Last Stand Volume 2". The circulating source is from a higher generation version with a number of cuts and inconsistant levels throughout. I had two versions of this source to work with, both were marked as 1st generation but one version, that came via a good friend in South Texas as part of a large cache of tapes he shipped me, was clearly superior to my source leading me to believe mine may actually be 2nd generation. The reason I mention both sources is my friend's 1st gen had 'My Hometown' cut halfway through, I therefore had to take that song from my 2nd generation source., still excellent quality but not quite the level of this 1st gen. All cuts and inconsistent levels have been corrected here, patches used are via Mark Persic's excellent master source with the only small issue being the transition between 'The River/War', I had to cut out half a second at the start of the patch due to a loud audience member that was a jolt in the transition. The patch is adequate but not as smooth as I would have liked. As for the show itself, this closing stand and much of the stadium leg of the tour, continues to divide the faithful. Recorded for inclusion on the subsequent box set I would assume at some point we may see an official release for at least one of the shows from this stand. Until then, love it or hate it, this is a tremendous capture and highly recommended.
