On 08 Apr 2020, out of the blue, actor John Stamos posted on his Instagram and Facebook accounts a 15-minute clip compiling portions of video footage shot at John Fogerty's 50th birthday party. As seen in the clip, Bruce Springsteen (guitar, percussion, and vocals), John Fogerty (guitar and vocals), John Stamos (drums), John Fogerty's wife Julie Fogerty (percussion), and others jammed on no less than 8 songs a the surprise party. The intimate gig took place in the Fogertys' living room at their residence in Beverly Hills, CA. It's unclear on which day exactly this previously-undocumented event took place, but it's likely on or around 28 May 1995 when John Fogerty turned fifty.
"Now, I promised super cool Julie Fogerty that I would never let this private home-spun video out of my hands," Stamos wrote on his social media accounts. "But sitting around during this time, scanning through old videos, I figured it would be extremely special for people to see these two SUPERNOVA'S, two of music's biggest and most legendary ICONS sing and play together." He asked Julie Fogerty's permission to post part of the footage and she gave him the go-ahead.
DETAIL MAN was performed off-tour on 28 May 1995 at Fogerty Residence in Beverly Hills, CA, during John Fogerty's 50th birthday party.
