Live 08 Dec 1992 version
[Spoken intro:] Thank you! I gotta make a pit stop, we'll be right back! Roy's gonna entertain you with some New Orleans-style piano!
[Extended jam by Roy Bittan]
Aaaah
I'm gonna rock all night long, I'm gonna rock
I'm gonna rock all night long, I'm gonna rock
I'm gonna rock all night long, I'm gonna rock, baby 'til it comes the dawn
Alright!
[Spoken outro:] Thank you, Professor!
During his 08 Dec 1992 World Tour 1992-1993 show at Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA, Bruce Springsteen took a brief break between LIVING PROOF and LEAP OF FAITH. He said, "I gotta make a pit stop, we'll be right back! Roy's gonna continue with some New Orleans-style piano!" Roy Bitan then played a piano jam, and about a minute later, Springsteen came back on stage and concluded the instrumental with some brief lyrics.
At this point, it is unknown if the instrumental is an old classic or just an improvised jam, but it sounds like Bittan's belting out a jazzed up version of something that has the same chord progression (and more or less the same melody) as PINK CADILLAC. It is also unknown if the three lines Springsteen sang are from an old classic, an unknown Springsteen song, or just an improvisation.
Awaiting more information, Springsteenlyrics.com has listed this (sort-of) song under the title "I'm Gonna Rock (All Night Long)".
