Live 19 Nov 2006 version
Bruce Springsteen: | We said we'd walk together, darling, come what may |
And that come the twillight should we lose our way
If as we're walking a hand should slip free
I'll wait for you, and should I fall behind will you wait for me
Patti Scialfa: | We swore we'd travel, darling, side by side |
And we'd help each other stay in stride
But each lovers steps fall so differently
I'll wait for you, should I fall behind, you wait for me
Springsteen and Scialfa: | Now everyone dreams of love lasting and true |
But you and I know, what this world can do
Bruce Springsteen: | So let's make our steps clear so the other may see |
Springsteen and Scialfa: | I'll wait for you, and should I fall behind will you wait for me |
Bruce Springsteen: | There's a beautiful river in the valley ahead |
And there 'neath the oaks bough soon we'll be wed
Springsteen and Scialfa: | Should we lose each other in the evening trees |
I'll wait for you' and should I fall behind will you wait for me
Bruce Springsteen: | I'll wait for you' and should I fall behind will you wait for me |
Springsteen and Scialfa: | I'll wait for you' and should I fall behind will you wait for me |

Bruce Springsteen (spoken): | Miss Patti Scialfa! |
The above lyrics are for the live 19 Nov 2006 performance of IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND at Point Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, during The Seeger Sessions Tour. The song was played in a "waltz" arrangement, as a duet with Patti Scialfa. The live 19 Nov 2006 version of IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND was released on the Live In Dublin album and home video in 2007.
On the official release, IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND (at least the video) is edited toward the end — the instrumental outro (between 4:14 and around 4:58) is taken from one of the first two nights in Dublin (17 or 18 Nov 2006). The most noticeable visual is Springsteen's guitar that changes back and forth toward the end of the song.
At the end of the Seeger Sessions Tour, the three-night stand at Point Theater in Dublin, Ireland, (17-18-19 Nov 2006) was filmed with nine High Definition cameras. A selection of 23 songs from these three nights was officially released on 05 Jun 2007 on the Live In Dublin album and home video, credited to "Bruce Springsteen With The Sessions Band". "Seeger" was dropped from the band's name for this release, apparently due to the fact that many of the songs are Springsteen originals from his earlier records, or covers that are not related to Pete Seeger.
Live In Dublin is available in four formats: 2-CD set, standard DVD, 2-CD/1-DVD combo set, and Blu-ray disc.
The album charted in several countries, but only made it to #1 in Ireland.
