Live 28 Jun 2009 version
Spread out now, Rosie, doctor come cut loose her mama's reins
You know playin' blind man's bluff is a little baby's game
You pick up Little Dynamite, oh, I'm gonna pick up Little Gun
Together we're gonna go out tonight, make that highway run
You don't have to call me lieutenant, I don't want to be your son
Only lover I'm ever gonna need's your soft sweet little girl's tongue
You're the one
Dynamite's in the belfry, baby, playin' with the bats
Little Gun's downtown in front of Woolworth's, tryin' out his attitude on all the cats
Papa's on the corner, waitin' for the bus
Mama's home in the window, waitin' over there for us
She'll be there in that chair, wrestle her upstairs, know we ain't gonna come
I ain't here on business, I'm only here for
[Crowd:] fun!
You're the one
Whoa!
Rosalita, jump a little lighter
Senorita, come sit by my fire
I just want to be your lover, ain't no liar
Rosie, you're my stone desire
Jack the Rabbit, Weak Knees Willie, you know they're gonna be there
Gonna be Sloppy Sue, Big Bones Billy, comin' up for...
We're gonna play some pool, skip some school, act real cool
Stay out all night, it's gonna feel all right
Rosie, come out tonight, come out tonight
Windows are for cheaters, chimneys for the poor
Closets are for hangers, winners... Use the door!
Rosalita, jump a little lighter
Mamasita, come sit by my fire
I just want to be your lover, ain't no liar
Rosie, you're my stone desire
I know your mama, she don't like me 'cause I play in a rock and roll band
I know your pop don't dig me, he never did understand
Papa lowered the boom, locked you in your room
Coming to lend a hand
I'm here to liberate you, confiscate you, I want to be your man
Someday we'll look back on this
[Clarence Clemons:] And it will all
Seem funny
Now you're sad, mama's mad
Your papa says he knows (that I don't have any money)
Papa says he knows (that I don't have any money)
Daddy says he knows (that I don't have any money)
Whoa!
This is his last chance to get his daughter in a fine romance
Record company, Rosie, gave me a big advance
Tires were slashed, almost crashed, the Lord had mercy
My machine, she's a dud, out stuck in the mud somewhere in the swamps of Jersey
Hold on tight, stay up all night, Rosie, I'm comin' on strong
By the time we meet the morning light, hold you in my arms
I know a pretty little place in Southern California down San Diego way
Little café, they play guitars all night and day
You can hear 'em in the back room strummin'
Hold tight, baby, don't you know daddy's comin'
Everybody say
(Ohhhhh!) It's the big one! This is the big one! It's the big one over here!
Ohhhhhh
Whoa! Whoa!
Whoa!
Rosalita, jump a little lighter
Senorita, come sit by my fire
I just want to be your lover, ain't no liar
Rosie, you're my stone desire
Whoa!
Rrrr!
Stevie!
[Steven Van Zandt:] Awoo!
Whoa, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, whoa, whoa, whoa!
Agabooga!
(Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!)
The above lyrics are for the live 28 Jun 2009 performance of ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) at Hyde Park in London, England, during the Working On A Dream Tour. The song was played in a traditional full-band arrangement. The complete 28 Jun 2009 show was officially released in 2010 on the London Calling: Live In Hyde Park home video (see the below section).
Hard Rock Calling is a music festival held at Hyde Park in London, England, around early summer each year since 2006, and spans the period of two or three days. The festival is organized by Hard Rock Cafe and Live Nation.
During their Working On A Dream Tour, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performed on the last day (28 Jun 2009) of the festival and their performance, was captured with High Definition (HD) cameras and was released in its complete form on DVD the following year. The film was officially released on 22 Jun 2010, though it premiered on the big screen in a 90-minute edited version on 05 Jun 2010 at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Museum in Cleveland, OH. The 90-minute cut was also screened in June 2010 various theaters across the United States, with benefits going either to the venue itself in the case of non-profit theater, of The Danny Federici Melanoma Fund.
The film is credited to Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band and is titled "London Calling: Live In Hyde Park". The release takes its name from LONDON CALLING, the Clash classic that Springsteen opened the show with.
In addition to the complete 28 Jun 2009 concert, the release also contains performances of three songs from other shows: an instrumental version of RAISE YOUR HAND from an unknown performance plays over the closing credits, and THE RIVER from Glastonbury Festival and music video for WRECKING BALL recorded at Giants Stadium are included as bonus tracks.
