SOOTHE ME

Live 13 Oct 1977 version

Southside Johnny:Well...

Southside Johnny:Oh, baby

Southside Johnny:What is that I see?
Soothe me, soothe me
Soothe me, soothe me
Soothe me, soothe me
Soothe me, baby
Oh, oh
Oh
All right, horns?
All right
We ain't never going that far back!
Soothe me
All right
Hey, all right
Hey, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Come on, let's get on

Southside Johnny:Oh, soothe me
Bruce Springsteen:Soothe me
Southside Johnny:Soothe me
Bruce Springsteen:Why don't you soothe me
Southside Johnny:Come on, baby
Bruce Springsteen:Come on, baby
Southside Johnny:I want you to soothe me, now
Bruce Springsteen:I want you to soothe me, now
Southside Johnny:Just come on and let the good times roll
Southside and Springsteen:Come on and let the good times roll
Southside Johnny:Yeah, baby
Southside and Springsteen:Come on, let the good times roll
Southside Johnny:Come on, babe!
Southside and Springsteen:Come on and let the good times roll
Southside Johnny:Ah, come on!
Southside and Springsteen:Come on, let the good times roll
Southside Johnny: All night
Southside and Springsteen:Come on, let the good times roll
Southside Johnny:Come on, baby
Southside and Springsteen:Come on, let the good times roll
Southside Johnny:Come on
Southside and Springsteen:Come on, let the good times roll
Southside Johnny:Come on
Southside and Springsteen:Come on, let the good times roll
Southside Johnny:Come on
Southside and Springsteen:Come on, let the good times roll
Come on, let the good times roll

Southside and Springsteen:Soothe me, baby, soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me

Southside Johnny:How I used to ramble (yes, you did!)
How I used to roam (are you ready, now?)
Bruce Springsteen:Ever since I met that baby of mine
All I do is stay at home

Southside Johnny:Everybody, now
Southside and Springsteen:Soothe me, baby, soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me

Southside Johnny:Now, I just want to say one more thing
I used to have a lot of girls (oh, yes, he did)
Have them, big and small (uh, huh)
Bruce Springsteen:Since I met this little baby of mine
I don't know no girls at all

Southside and Springsteen:Soothe me, baby, soothe me (Come on, now)
Soothe me with your kindness
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me
Southside Johnny:Oh, baby, baby

Southside Johnny:Oh, yeah!
Bruce Springsteen:It's too late, now!
Southside Johnny:Go down to the bar for me, now
Bruce Springsteen:Because I can!
Southside Johnny:Yeah, that's right
Bruce Springsteen:Oh, baby, baby, no they don't... They put me into a... little thing... And said... Baby, wake up! They said, hey, baby, wake up! Southside Johnny, why don't you used the thing and wake up? Come on, baby, got to wake up!
Now, come on, baby, wake up!
Don't wait!
Yeah, baby!
Southside Johnny:Come on, baby!
I don't want to wake up!
I don't want to give it up!
Oh, said I'm feeling all right now
I still feel so good right now, baby
I swear I am happy tonight, and I don't want to give it up!
And I want it so bad!
I want things to work out!
I, don't want to work out
I, oh...

Southside Johnny:How I used to ramble
Bruce Springsteen:How I used to roam
Southside and Springsteen:Since I met this baby of mine
All I do is stay at home

Southside and Springsteen:Soothe me, baby, soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me

Southside and Springsteen:Soothe me, baby, soothe me (yeah, yeah)
Soothe me with your kindness
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me
For, you know, your powerful loving is
Soothing to me

Southside Johnny (spoken outro):Play that thing, baby! Yeah, oh, baby!
